Latin American Independence Country ● Brazil is the name of the country. ● Brazil gained independence on September 7, 1822. ● It gained independence from Portugal (located in Europe, west of Spain), with the help of independence leader, Prince Dom Pedro. ● Its colonial period lasted about 322 years. ● During that time, Brazil’s name used to be Ilha de Vera Cruz, which mean ‘Island of the True Cross. ”
The colors of Brazil’s flag are yellow rhombus on dark green field (represents the dynastic houses of Pedro I and his consort), blue and white (represents the union’s federal units). Each of the 27 stars represent each one of the Brazilian states. The motto on the flag means “Order and Progress. ” Brazil’s Flag

Where and What Is Located In Brazil? ● Brazil is located in South America. ● South of Guyana, Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana; East of Peru, Colombia and Bolivia; North of Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay; and West of the Atlantic Ocean. ● The 5 primary geographic areas are the Guiana Highlands, Brazilian Highlands, Amazon River Basin, Pantanal Wetlands and Southern Highlands.

Politics and Population in Brazil ● Brazil’s current population consists of about 43% mixed, 7% black, 1% indigenous, and 49% white. ● Some political allies include: Estonia, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands (Norway), Austria and they don’t really have any enemies. ● A couple economic allies are: Chia, Uruguay, Argentina and many more.
