The laming flat riot The highest rioter against the Chinese was in Central of New South Wales. The Europeans’ ill tempered of the Chinese Apparently as because they waste too much water on the extracting's of gold. But they would have done a good deed for the colony if the white men accepted them but they did not and the whites became angrier every time they were stopped by the law which meant sooner the authorities would have needed to act before it got out of control. 6 riots happened in lambing flats by the Chinese and the white people, this occurred in only ten months. By October 1860 a great amount of people thought that NSW would be producing more gold then ever.
What Did They Do To the Chinese? The Europeans response to the Chinese was that they did riots with the Chinese and made them run away. What they did to the Chinese was cut there pig tails off or they even tried to pull of there pig tails by the roots after they would tie it on a pole of there banners and wave it in triumph. Once a local farmer called James Robert looked after some Chinese migrants with his family for about four week. If a white person were to see a Chinese person and that Chinese person had valuables the English men would then take away there valueables.
Where Did the Europeans Gather Before Attacking? There came a call to where they were going to make a move against the Chinese they did a roll up at Bendigo. An angry group of European and American miners met in Bendigo in 1854 and declared that a "general and unanimous rising should take place, for the purpose of driving the Chinese off the goldfield". Local constables acted quickly to prevent the uprising, by asserting their presence and warning the miners against any further vigilante action. The event was only the beginning of greater anti-Chinese tensions. After that the anti-Chinese people got even more angry and got out of control.
Why Did The Europeans Do the Laming Flat Riot? At first the Europeans thought that the Chinese were drug addicts and that they were crazy, but really they were really good for there environment because they were able to do gardening in their harsh environments but the white people didn’t care. Some people did respect the Chinese and after the Laming flat attacks they helped them revive their strength. The miners were also jealous of how the Chinese were able to find gold say if a English or European miner left there mine because they found no gold a Chinese miner could go there and find gold because they understood how gold went diagonal ways not downwards.
