Labour integration of migrants in Stuttgart Ø Welcome Center Stuttgart as main service and contact point for newcomers (onestop-shop) Ø Support by volunteer apprenticeship mentors and job mentors from civil society, in particular for refugees Ø Local German courses for refugees, federal integration courses - partly combined with non-profit work, intership etc. Additionally: Vocational counseling and training camps for migrants and refugees under one roof Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart Folie 5
What‘s next? Ø Better personal counseling for asylumseekers on access to the labour market in the first 12 months Ø Training and involvement of refugees as mentors and bridge-builders to the labour market (self-empowerment) Ø Combination of language aquisition and vocational measures (internship, first job) from the beginning on Ø Reinforcement of interpreting services (Jobcenter Stuttgart: telephone interpreting) Ø Apprenticeship and recruitment of recognized refugees as interpreters and integration pilots, in particular persons with educational qualifications and intercultural competences (we have sufficient postdoc taxi drivers!)
