How to measure demand • Measure the difference between number employed in each occupation over 12 months • Multiply the numbers in each occupation by the replacement rate and add them. • Add in impact of job announcements • Take account of self-employment (easy to do at national level) SOLAS
National V Regional V ETB Area • All data available at national level and robust • Data available at planning region level but some of it is not robust • Data at ETB level is not robust and will not be published SOLAS
Where to from here • Currently creating regional labour market profiles for 8 regions • Will be uploaded on to new RSF web-site in about a month and available to all • Discussing with CSO possibility of additional regions • Possible to create ETB labour market profile on request if resources permit but for internal planning purposes only SOLAS
