Autoclaves • autoclave sterilizes items by heating them with steam to a very high temperature • (121 degrees° C/15 p. si, and 15 -20 min). The advantage of using an autoclave is that it can reach temperatures higher than boiling water alone , so it can kill not only bacteria e. g: lab coat, culture media

Incubator • Incubator is a warm cabinet for incubation of microbes for growth. • a good temperature for most bacteria is About 35ºc and a good temperature for most fungi is 25°c.

Hot air oven • This kind of dry heat sterilization is recommended when it is undesirable that hot air make contact with the material to be sterilized. • E. g: glass wares – glass Petri dish, Pipettes as well as for substances like oil, powder, etc. 160 ᵒc ……… 1 h 170 ᵒc ……… 40 min 180 ᵒc ………. 30 min
