Don’t leave your experiment unattended. It could be dangerous for someone else who is walking by. l No pranks or horseplay is allowed! l Just so you REMEMBER……… NO HORSEPLAY NO PRANKS
Keep your work-area clean, especially when you leave the lab. l Dispose of all waste properly l -When you leave the lab area most likely another class will be following you. Make sure they find everything the same way you found it. I will always start first block with a clean room! Make sure it stays that way!

Remember There are safety signs for many different situations l There can be more than one representation of the same type of hazard l KNOW YOUR SAFETY SIGNS l OBEY THE SIGNS WARNING l

3. Classroom Sink If a chemical should splash in your eye(s) or on your skin, immediately flush with running water and get the teachers attention. l Use the sink in the classroom not in the bathroom, this ensures that your teacher knows what is happening. l
Lab Safety Rules include: l Anytime chemicals, heat, or glassware used , students must wear Safety Goggles. l Please do not wear contact lenses in the lab. (your teacher will tell you the labs in which contacts are not allowed)
Tie back long hair and secure any baggy clothing. l You must always wear appropriate shoes…… this means NO sandals or flip flops. l Report any accident to the teacher immediately. Don’t wait until the end of the day……IMMEDIATELY!!!! l
Never return unused chemicals to their original containers and never remove chemicals or other materials from the laboratory area. l If it is in the classroom it stays in the classroom. l
Be careful with glassware. l Notify the teacher BEFORE cleaning up broken glass l Use a brush and dustpan to clean up broken glass and place in the designated container - cardboard box labeled: “Caution! Broken Glass l Be sure to wear your safety goggles when cleaning up broken glass l
Do not smell anything directly. Use your had to waft over the container. -Practice your waft!!!! l Your first notes are over!!! But that doesn’t mean you don’t need to look at them again…. STUDY!
