Lab Exercise The Axial Skeleton Skull Virtual Lab

Lab Exercise: The Axial Skeleton Skull Virtual Lab As a note: I did not have a picture that showed the following structures well. You are still responsible for them: • Sagittal suture • Stylomastoid foramen • Mandibular fossa • Middle nasal conchae • Incisive fossa • Mandibular notch • Mandibular foramen • The sinuses

Frontal bone Glabella Supraorbital foramen Nasal bones Lacrimal bone Inferior nasal conchae Vomer Zygomatic bone Maxilla Mandible

Infraorbital foramen Mental foramen Alveolar margin of the maxilla Mandibular symphysis Alveolar margin of the mandible

Frontal process of the maxilla Frontal process of the zygomatic Zygomatic process of the frontal bone Perpendicular plate (ethmoid bone) Zygomatic process of the maxilla

Orbital surface of the frontal bone Orbital surface of the sphenoid bone Orbital surface of the ethmoid bone Orbital surface of the zygomatic bone Orbital surface of the maxilla

Optic canal Superior orbital fissure Inferior orbital fissure

Coronal suture Squamous suture Coronoid process Mandibular condyle Lambdoid suture Styloid process Mastoid process Occipitomastoid suture

Crista galli Lesser wing of the sphenoid Cribriform plate with olfactory foramina Hypophyseal fossa Greater wing of the sphenoid Dorsum sellae Together these make the sella turcica
