¿A qué hora…? At what time…? l To answer this question, we wouldn’t want to say “It is ____. ” So we use a different expression that means “At ____” ¡A las ______ ¡ A la _____ If you are answering about 1: -l For example: • A las cinco es la fiesta. • La clase de espanol es a las ocho. • Almuerzo es a la una.
How it works l When telling time, you simply add “y ___” with the number of minutes. l l 3: 10 Son las tres y diez. 1: 25 Es la una y veinte y cinco 8: 14 Son las ocho y catorce. UNLESS you are referring to a time that comes AFTER --: 30. Then you must subtract from the next hour using “menos _______” l l l 4: 56 Son las cinco menos cuatro. 11: 31 Son las doce menos veinte y nueve. 12: 42 Es la una menos diez y ocho.
