Kudo Project 1 Should this be “Cabrini Connections” or did you intend to say “connector”? This is an interesting design. Can you use the power point and graphics to show the following ideas? Our aim is to help all t/m programs in city get needed resources. We need to create daily media that draw these resources directly to each program. The red dot (peter’s project) illustrates how anyone can be a leader to mobilize these resources

LAH Grant Award Event; Holiday Fund Raising Jan. National Mentoring Month; Feb. Leadership Development May Conferences March LAH Barrister’s Ball; Aug My Hero Awards The Tutor/Mentor Conneciton (T/MC) works on a 12 -month strategy similar to the yearround advertising campaigns of Sears, Wards, Mc. Donalds and other retail organizations. Each year the (T/MC) organizes events, and creates media, that helps programs recruit volunteers in Aug/Sept. and helps programs train those volunteers and convert them into leaders as each program moves through the School year. As each program ends the year it has more people helping it build capacity and quality for the following year. The T/MC has been working with the Lawyers Lend A Hand Program (LAH) since 1994. Thus, LAH has created events that also recruit volunteers and raise money for Chicago tutor/mentor programs. This strategy could be recruiting volunteers and donors from every industry, faith groups and civic network.

Build an on-going, year-to-year leadership strategy. In May, we want to celebrate tutoring/mentoring and recognize volunteers and students who have participated Sept. through April activities that support tutor/mentor programs Aug/Sept Chicagoland Volunteer Recruitment Campaign When the school year starts each year, there will be more programs reaching more kids, and each program will be better than the year before. May Conferences We also want people to look at the maps and understand that not enough programs are available We want people to recognize that kids only advance one grade at a time. The kids in 5 th grade will need tutoring/mentoring while in 6 th grade, and for 6 years after that. We want people to share ideas and learn from each other, so each program can use the summer months to add new ideas, and improve their program.
