KPS LPG Pipe System™ 11

Ronald Pinka - CEE area manager - Certified trainer - Site supervisor 2

The LPG filling station LPG piping needed for underground connection btw. tank and dispenser 3

KPS LPG Pipe System – main arguments § No corrosion § No outside insulation needed § No inside corrosion § No permeation § Electrostatically safe § Easy to install § Installation time less than one day § Reliable for long term use § CE marking according PED 97/23/EG 4

The KPS LPG Pipe § DN 25 mm (>25 mm = equiment category I. according PED) § outer DIA 50 mm § 100 m coils, Conductive layer other length on request § Reliable, robust design § Conductive and electrostatically safe § Designed for 25 bar continuous pressure § No water swelling § No risk of delamination § No degradation Polyethylene Permeation barrier 5

Avoiding Electrostatic Hazards § Flow of a fluid in non-conductive piping generates electrostatic charge Consequence: Risk of electrostatic discharges from pipe or adjacent conductive objects Non-conductive piping must not be used for LPG ! § KPS LPG pipe: Is conductive = it is able to dissipate electrostatic charges into ground, before they accumulate § KPS LPG pipe: Means no risk of electrostatic charges/discharges 6

Stainless Steel End Fittings § End fittings are of stainless steel § KPS offers a complete corrosion resistant LPG piping system 7

Install fittings using standard tools § No expensive machinery needed to install fittings! § Easily installed end fittings 8

Flexibility on site § Cut to desired length on site § No need to order custom lengths § Full flexibility to adapt pipe length during installation 9

Flexibility on site § If bends are desired, they can be done on site 10

Products Stainless steel fittings LPG pipe DN 25 mm outer DIA 50 mm 100 m coil 11

Installation instructions § See the LPG installation manual (available in English, French, Italian, Croatian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and German) 12

Installer training § All LPG installers must be trained and certified by KPS § Training is theoretical and practical § All certified installers can display the certificate badge § KPS can supply a list of certified LPG installers on request § Certificates are valid for 3 years, after which re-certification training is necessary 13

Standards and Approvals § CE certificate and marking according PED 97/23/EG § German approval (TÜV) process is ongoing § German approval will open doors on many other markets § There is currently no LPG piping standard to be approved to § European standard is coming: EN 16125 – first version will include metal piping only. Plastic piping will be included in first revision. 14

The competition § Steel / Ssteel / Copper (commodity piping) § Brugg LPG pipe § TCI Thermoflex LPG § Nupigeco Smart-LPG 15

Steel / SSteel / Copper § Many welding joints § X-ray check/test/verifycation of joints neccessary § Insulation works on entire piping § High voltage test of insulation required § Concrete trench (as SC) required § Labor-intensive installation (7 -10 days) 16

Brugg LPG pipe § A pipe fit for LPG installation § Not easy to install, not popular with installers • 6 pages instruction for 1 fitting! § CE approved § Likely to get EN 16125 approval (new European LPG piping standard) § Most expensive pipe 17

TCI: Thermoflex LPG § Made from hydroscopic materials = risk of water swelling § Non-adhering layers = risk of microbial infestation § Zinc chromated carbon steel fittings = risk of corrosion § Non-conductive = risk of electrostatic discharge = ignition source § Swage fittings = expensive crimping machine required 18

Nupigeco: Smart-LPG § Made from hydroscopic materials = risk of water swelling § Non-adhering layers = risk of microbial infestation § Chromyl steel fittings = less corrosion resistant than stainless steel § Swage fittings = expensive crimping machine required (90 day delivery time, 4 page instruction for installing one fitting) § Non-conductive = risk of static discharge § EN 13766 approval = hose standard, not pipe standard 19

Summary § Only Brugg and KPS has a pipe truly fit for purpose: • Appropriate for burial in the ground • Conductive and electrostatically safe § Only Brugg and KPS have stainless steel end fittings, the most corrosion safe alternative § Prices chart: 1. Brugg, 2. KPS, 3. Nupi and TCI § KPS SS fittings cost a bit more but are easy to install, but Nupi’s and TCI’s require expensive crimping machines and Brugg end fittings are difficult to mount 20

Summary § Brugg, Nupi and TCI will often deliver pipes with pre-mounted fittings: • Longer delivery times • Less flexibility on site • Problems with bending Nupi pipe with fittings mounted § KPS offers easier installation and better flexibility during installation • No unpleasant surprises or showstoppers during installation 21
