Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group Annual General Meeting 2018 An AGM is a special meeting we have every year to talk about the work we have done and the work we are going to do. Annual General Meeting might get called ‘AGM’. Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group might get called ‘CCG’. Anyone can come to our AGM and they are encouraged to ask us questions at the end.

Welcome And Overview Dr Andrew Pryce Chair Dr Pryce works as a GP at Dinas Lane Medical Centre in Huyton. Dr Pryce is in charge of the Knowsley CCG’s Governing Body and makes sure the right decisions are made.

The Annual Accounts John Doyle Chief Finance Officer John is the Chief Finance Officer for the CCG and looks after all of our money. He helps the CCG make big decisions. John is here to tell us how we spent our money in the last year.

How Did We Spend The Money? The CCG buys and plans health services for our local population. We need to make sure that we spend that money in the best way. We have to make sure we don’t spend too much money. We have to make sure we buy good services so that we have healthy and happy people in Knowsley.

How Did We Spend The Money? In the last year we spent all of our money in the right way. This was checked by NHS England also told us to save a little bit of money and we have done this. We had everything checked by someone not from the NHS or the CCG and they made sure we had spent our money in the right way. They also checked we had bought good services for our money.

How Did We Spend The Money? We spent most of our money on hospital care. We also spent money on lots of other services: • Mental Health • Community Health • Continuing Health Care • Medicines • Primary Care And the staff who provide them.

What Next? We have set out plans for how we will spend our money over the next two years. We have made sure our plans are agreed with NHS England. We have lots of challenges to face: • More money needed to pay for hospital care • People are living until they are much older • More money needed for mental health care • More patients whose care costs a lot more money than others

Introduction To Speakers Dianne Johnson Chief Executive Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group Dianne is the Chief Executive for the CCG and she is in charge of all the CCG staff and makes a lot of big decisions. Dianne is going to tell us about who is speaking today.

Cancer Tony Woods Director of Strategy and Performance Tony is the Director of Strategy and Performance for the CCG and he helps the CCG decide what we spend money on. Tony is going to talk to us about cancer.

Cancer In Knowsley Cancer causes more deaths in Knowsley than any other disease. Half of the people who die from cancer are under 75. Some of the people who die from cancer have lung cancer. Knowsley has more people with lung cancer compared to other places in England. The CCG wants to change this and is working hard to make changes.

Cancer In Knowsley Cancer services for people in Knowsley are GOOD. NHS England has given Knowsley CCG some money to work with cancer patients. We are working hard to see and treat patients who have cancer more quickly We are working hard to cut the number of people dying from lung cancer in Knowsley.

Cancer In Knowsley Macmillan has given Knowsley CCG some money to work with cancer patients. We will have people working in GP practices to help new cancer patients. We will encourage more people to get checked for cancer. A special nurse support patients through their experience of having cancer and getting treatment.

Mental Health Tony Woods Director of Strategy and Performance Tony is the Director of Strategy and Performance for the CCG and he helps the CCG decide what we spend money on. Tony is going to talk to us about mental health.

Children And Young People’s Mental Health We are changing mental health services for children and young people. Some children and young people have problems with eating and food. In Knowsley, there is a service to help them. Children and young people can sometimes need help with their mental health quickly if they are in a crisis. We have made this service better. We have improved mental health services for pregnant women.

Supporting People With Learning Disabilities and/or Autism The Transforming Care programme aims to improve services so that more people receive support in their community, and closer to their families, instead of in hospital. We are working to have a team which works closer and quicker in Knowsley for people who need it. This is called Intensive Support. We hope this will be ready by autumn. We have asked for some money to help build a service for people with autism in Knowsley.

Personal Health Budgets Helen Meredith Chief Nurse Helen is the Chief Nurse for the CCG and she makes sure that our services are good enough for everyone in Knowsley. Helen also helps other nurses with their work. Helen is going to talk to us about Personal Health Budgets, which might get called ‘PHBs’.

What is it all about? A film will be shown about ‘Patient D’ and how a Personal Health Budget has helped her and her family. If you would like to ask any questions about the video, please speak to Joshua.

What Is A Personal Health Budget (PHB)? A PHB is an amount of money to meet an individual’s needs. It isn’t new money - it's a more effective way of spending it in a more personalised manner. This empowers the person, increasing the quality of care.

The Person With A Personal Health Budget (Or Their Representative) Should: Be involved as much as possible in a personal health budget. Be able to agree what they want to achieve. Understand as soon as possible how much money there is.

Personal Health Budgets Each person’s budget should have enough money to cover all health and wellbeing needs which are written down in a personalised support plan. Money can be managed by the individual or a broker can be arranged.

Who Can Have A Personal Health Budget? Adults eligible for NHS continuing healthcare and children who get continuing care have had a right to have a personal health budget since October 2014.

Medicines Management Mark Pilling Chief Pharmacist and Assistant Director of Primary Care Mark is the Chief Pharmacist and Assistant Director of Primary Care for the CCG and he makes decisions about medicines. Mark also supports primary care services, such as GPs. Mark is going to talk to us about the work the CCG did last year to make sure that our patients get the most benefit from medicines they are prescribed.
