Knowledge Organiser Focus: I should already know: I can recognise and name different colours. I can identify different types of weather. I will learn: I know about some of the main things that are in hot and cold places. I can recognise primary and secondary colours. Splendid Skies Key Words harvest Harvesting is the process of gathering a ripe crop from the fields. parable A parable is a simple story that has a lesson or moral within in it. Parables are used within the Bible. primary colours The three primary colours are red, blue and yellow. These colours cannot be created by mixing other colours. secondary colours Secondary colours are colours which are a result of mixing two primary colours together. rights Rights are principles that all people are entitled to, to help make the world fair. responsibilities Responsibilities are things which people have to do to ensure others can enjoy their rights. climate The climate describes the weather in an area in general. I know that primary colours mix together to make secondary colours. Greater Depth Challenge I know what a Harvest Festival is. Thinking Deeper Challenge I can discuss parables and identify what a parable is. Can you identify the responsibilities that go along with some of the UNICEF Rights of the Child? I know when I feel special and safe. This will help in the future: I can describe a place outside of Europe using geographical words. I can mix paint to create secondary colours. Knowledge Organiser Focus: What are primary and secondary colours? There are three primary colours which are used to create all other colours. Splendid Skies Geography Which climate is best for each animal? cold climate hot climate By mixing the primary colours together, they create other colours, such as secondary colours, which are green, orange and violet. What are rights and responsibilities? Rights ‘Rights’ are things every child should be able to do. All children have the same rights. These rights are listed in the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Responsibilities In order to enjoy the rights you have, you have to take on certain responsibilities. These are jobs or something you should do such as: RE What is Harvest Festival? A harvest festival is a celebration of the food that is grown on the land. Celebrations giving thanks for our food, happen in many countriess around the world. In Britain, harvest festivals are often celebrated in churches by bringing baskets of food to give thanks to God. The Lost Sheep Jesus told a parable about a shepherd who has one hundred sheep. When one of the sheep got lost, the shepherd searched and searched until he found it. The meaning of this lesson is that although the shepherd had ninety-nine other sheep, the lost one was just as important therefore everyone matters equally.
