KOMPETENSI Mampu Menentukan kode simtoma, tanda-tanda dan temuan klinis serta laboratorium yang disandang pasien dan tidak terklasifikasi di Bab-Bab ICD-10 lain, dengan benar, tepat dan presisi. 2

BAB XVIII Symptoms, Signs & Abnormal Clinical & Laboratory Finding, NEC (R 00 -R 99) [755 -788] • Bab ini meliput simtoma, tanda-tanda, hasil klinis atau pemeriksaan lain yang abnormal, juga kondisisakit tanpa ada pernyataan kepastian diagnose yang terklasifikasi di tempat/Bab lain. • Tanda-tanda dan simtoma yang mengarah ke suatu diagnose yang telah diakui, akan ditemukan sebagai kategori di Bab klasifikasi ICD-10 ini. 3

(Lanjutan) Secara umum, kategori-kategori dalam Bab R, termasuk kondisi yang kurang terdefinisi jelas dan simtoma kasus yang tanpa harus dikaji untuk memastikan diagnose finalnya, akan mengarah ke dua atau lebih penyakit, atau mungkin juga ke dua atau lebih sistem tubuh. Secara praktis semua kategori-kategori dalam Bab ini akan terkelompok ke: “NOS” , “Unknown etiology” atau “transient”. 4

Bab XVIII – cont. – Coder harus menelusuri lewat ICD-Volume 3, Indeks Alfabetik, untuk memastikan mana simtoma dan tanda-tanda yang teralokasi di Bab ini, dan mana yang akan dijumpai di Bab lain. Kategori residual dengan nomor code. 8 umumnya adalah untuk simtoma-simtoma lain yang relevans dan tidak mungkin diklasifikasikan di tempat lain dalam klasifikasi yang ada. 5

Kondisi dan simtoma, tanda-tanda yang terliput dalam kategori R 00 -R 99, terdiri dari: [755] (a) kasus-kasus yang walau semua fakta yang menyertainya telah diinvestigai tidak dapat mengarah ke diagnose yang lebih specifik. (b) tanda-tanda & simtoma yang ditemukan segera saat pasien dilayani dan ternyata hanya sementara (transient), dan tidak ditemukan sebab-sebabnya. (c) diagnose sementara saat masuk rawat, dan ternyata pasien tidak pernah datang lagi untuk pemeriksaan atau asuhan lebih lanjut. 9
