Gallery Walk You will silently move around the classroom and analyze the images taped on the walls closely. Consider which images stood out to you the most. Once 8 minutes are over and everyone has had a chance to observe all images, you will be given some time to analyse 3 images of your choice more closely: Imagine you traveled to India and became an invisible bystander in this image. What do you see before your eyes? What do you hear? Smell? Feel? Taste? What conclusions can you make about what is going on in this image?

Video Analysis: While you are watching the video, pay attention to who is involved, where the events are taking place, when these events are happening, what exactly is going on and why these events are taking place. Complete the first section of your Kisaan Protest Analysis sheet.

Debrief Review student answers: students may first discuss with peers and collaboratively complete the first section of their sheet or work independently. Circulate to see that students are on track. Debrief: students provide answers verbally to answer questions on first section.

JIGSAW: Article Analysis You will be randomly assigned to one of five articles we will be analyzing as a class. You will be given a number between 1 -5. Once you are assigned a number, please go to the table group that has the article with your corresponding number. Get to know your new group members and work together to analyze the article! Ask questions, make connections and define key terms! You will become the “expert” on this article, and are responsible for explaining the main points to your original group when you return to your seats. While you are reading the article, complete the “Two. Column Note Taking” sheet.

JIGSAW Once you have thoroughly discussed your ideas with your new group, begin working on 3 sections of your analysis sheet: • “A Closer Look: What do the 3 Farm Laws Mean? ” • “Analysis: What are the consequences of these new laws? • “Reflection: Judging Intent”

JIGSAW DEBRIEF Now go back to your original seats and exchange your ideas with one another. Add to your Kisaan Protest Analysis sheet and elaborate on the key points that your article presented.

Preparation q Move your desks into 6 discussion groups q Each group will be given a big chart paper, a source sheet and markers for all group members. q Please tape the source sheet to the centre of your chart

Your Task q Everyone must respond to the source in some way. You may ask questions, write a comment, create a drawing/cartoon, or write a poem. These responses are your opinions q Please comment on each other’s responses – you may use arrows to indicate your response q Make connections! You may respond with background knowledge you have on the topic PLEASE NOTE: q You cannot talk during this activity – all of your conversation should be written/drawn on the chart paper q Multiple students will be writing at the same time

q You will have 2 mins to respond to each source. Once your time is up, you will be given a signal by your teacher and move on to the next source. For example, Station 1, moves to Station 2; Station 2 moves to Station 3 … q Once you move to the next station, respond to the source and add to the comments made by your peers

Discussion q Once you have returned to the first source you analyzed, you may start talking. Review the comments on your chart paper. q Together, discuss what the source means and choose 1 -2 comments that really stood out to you. q Appoint one person from your group to briefly describe the source the rest of the class and share the comments you chose.
