An Important Day 1 Samuel 10: 17 -19 Samuel had told all the 12 tribes of Israel to meet together at a place called Mizpah for a very special reason. They were to hear what God had to say to them.

An Important Day 1 Samuel 10: 17 -19 Samuel told them what God had said. God reminded them of the great things he had done for them – setting them free from slavery then showing them the way through the desert for 40 years into their own land, just as he had promised.

Samuel brought each tribe forward and told the crowd it would be someone in the tribe of Benjamin – not the other 11 tribes. Then it would be someone in the clan of Matri – not the other clans; then someone in the family of Kish – not the other families. It would be someone called Saul!

He had hidden himself among all the baggage the people had brought with them. They asked the Lord where he was. They ran and found him and brought him out to face them all.

Then Samuel said “Do you see the man The Lord has chosen? ” The people were very pleased with the leader God had chosen for them. They liked the way he looked. They shouted, “Long live the king!”
