We had a great first week of kindergarten! It’s been great spending time getting to know all your children. It’s nice to see all their smiling faces as they learn new things and grow each day. Last week we learned the letters Aa, Bb and Cc and the sounds they make. We also spent a lot of time learning classroom routines and expectations. On Tuesday we learned all about how to be a good dragon at different places around our school. We also talked about making good choices in school. Snack is changing this year. This year your child won’t have their own day to bring snacks. Rather we’re going to have all the girls bring snack on the first day of each month and all the boys will bring snack on the 15 th day of each month Your child will bring a red folder home each night with work he/she has completed. Don’t forget to take those papers out and send the folder back to school! At home… • Read for at least 20 minutes every night • Work on all the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make • Practice counting to 100 together
