Protagonist Characters: Ryan was made fun of because of how small he was. His mom made him play soccer until 6 th grade, when he tried out for the school football team. He was on the football team, but he was made fun of; they would call him ‘’shrimpy. ’’ His father moved away when Ryan was very young, and he had just recently passed away. When they went to the reading of his father’s will, they found out that his father was the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. When they read off the will, Ryan’s father picked Ryan to be the new owner. Ryan was hoping that being the ‘’Kid Owner’’ woulfl help bump up his reputation a little bit, but he was wrong. After the first couple of days, it seemed like they forgot about him. Ryan was struggling showing the world that he deserves to be kid owner, and he is trying to find a way to convince his football coach that he should be starting QB.
Protagonist Characters: Izzy was the new girl at Ryan’s school; she was very liked by the kids. Izzy was invited to many tables at lunch, but she decided to sit with the two boys that sit by themselves everyday, Jackson and Ryan. Izzy knew all the stats for all the players on the Cowboys and knew where they would fit best on the field. She always found a way to help Ryan stay modest about owning the Cowboys, and she told him where to put the players on the field and who to trade. Izzy helped Ryan a lot throughout the story. Izzy ended up being one of Ryan’s best friends(other than Jackson).
Protagonist Characters: Jackson was Ryan’s football teammate and best friend. He always sat with Ryan at lunch and lifted his spirits. Since Ryan had to prove that he could be the starting QB, Jackson would help Ryan at practice, games, home, and school with different ways, whether it was ideas or actual practices or games. Jackson would always keep Ryan confident in himself. If someone would mess with Ryan, even the coaches, Jackson would step up and help.
Antagonist Characters; Dillon and His Mother(Ryan’s Stepmom and Step Brother) Dillon and his mom were the antagonists in the story. Once they figured out that Ryan was to own the Cowboys, and not them, they wanted it all to themselves and did all they could so that they could to have ithe team as theirs. Dillon played for what people called ‘’the best middle school team in Texas. ’’ They have never lost a game or scrimmage for 5 straight years. When Ryan and Dillon’s football team had to go face to face, Ryan gave up the winning touchdown hoping that it would help them win, but he was wrong. Ryan ended up losing the game, but since he cared so much to give up the game winning touchdown, Ryan beat Dillon.
Main Settings; Football Field The football field is a big role in the story. At the football field, whether it is the Cowboys stadium, or Ryan’s school home field, that is where most of the story takes place. At the football field, is where Jackson stood up for Ryan, Ryan tried to prove himself to his coach, he gave up the winning touchdown, and he won the ownership of the Cowboys. At the Cowboys stadium, Ryan met the coach of the Cowboys and the players, and got to watch the game from the sideline with his friends as the owner.
Main Settings; Home and School These two settings also affected the story. At school, Ryan and Jackson met Izzy, and Ryan also was popular at his school when the kids found out that he was the new kid owner of the Dallas Cowboys. At the school, Coach Cowan, the dallas Cowboys’ head coach came to Coach Hubbard’s (Ryan’s coach) to show him plays that would help the team and Ryan to win more games. At home, Ryan, Izzy, and Jackson came up with the idea to ask Coach Cowan to give Coach Hubbard some plays so that Ryan could play more QB. Also, at home all three of them go to Ryan’s after school every day to swim and eat.
Main Protagonist and How he Changed; Ryan At the beginning of the story, Ryan was forced to play soccer, though he wanted to play football. His mom promised that when he went to 6 th grade that he could play football. That day finally came, but when he went to orientations, Ryan was made fun of because of how small he was. They would call him Mina Zinna and Shrimpy. At the end of the story, Ryan was able to prove to the coach and his team that just because of his size, didn't mean that he couldn't play football or QB. His intelligence of the game and his confidence grew throughout the story.
Main Climaxes The first main climax in the story is when Ryan finds out that his father was the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and that he inherited that. Second, was when Ryan and Coach Cowan gave Coach Hubbard new plays that would help him as QB. That helped him show that he was able to be the starting QB. The last one was when Ryan and Dillon faced off for the ownership of the Dallas Cowboys.
