Keyboarding Classroom Rules, Expectations, and Grading

What are we doing in this class? We are starting a new subject in Computer Applications, the subject we are starting is Keyboarding. Every day you will be practicing and enhancing your keyboarding skills. You must make sure to improve your keyboarding by completing your daily lessons Every day you will get a grade for completing your 5 keyboarding lessons at the wpm you were assigned.

How will class work? Step 1: Every day you will hand sanitize or wipe your hands with a Clorox wipe. Step 2: You will then log on to your computer. Step 3: You will complete your bell work on a sticky note, which should stay on your desktop till I check your answer.

How will class work? Step 4: Every class you will open your internet and go to www. freetypinggame. net and be ready to do your lessons/typing tests for the day. Step 5: You will remain quiet while working on your daily lessons, however if you ever have a question or get behind, please ask!

How Does Grading Work on Tests: You will take a 1 & 5 minute typing test each week. You will get 10 points for each test, for a total of 20 points. Every week you will need to improve your test by 3 WPM (words per minute). Failing to do so will be a deduction on your test score, every 3 WPM lower will be 2 points taken off.

How Does Grading Work on Lessons: After you take your first typing speed test you will get your average WPM (words per minute). This WPM is what speed you will have to achieve on your lessons. You will usually complete 5 lessons a day. Each lesson has 2 parts. You will get 5 points for completing each lesson, which will give you a total of 25 points per day.

What do I do if I finish earlier then everyone else? If you finish your assignment earlier than everyone else you are then expected to: Sit quietly and work on other work OR Play typing computer games only until you are instructed to do differently by Mrs. Danielak.
