FAQ • Btec First Award in Public Services • What if I don’t pass my exam first time? You will be able to resit your exam if you don’t pass it, or you can compensate with the other core unit as long as you have an average of a L 2 P over the two units. • How often do we have work set? There are usually deadlines every 2 weeks. • Who else will we work with? We have opportunities to work with various Public Services as well as the Youth Service. • Do I have to pass all of the fitness tests in U 5? No the important thing is taking part and having a go at the fitness tests and then you evaluate your performance and how you could improve. • Personal Success and Wellbeing • Will we work with external agencies? Yes you will work with the Youth Service and other agencies who can support us in different units. • Is there an exam? No the course is 100% portfolio • Does my written work have to be perfect to pass? It does not need to be perfect but every criteria must be met to achieve the course • Do I have to get 100% to pass? Yes all criteria must be answered correctly but your teacher will give you individual feedback on anything that is missing • Is everything written? All of your work will be done on a computer straight into the portfolio booklets • How often are there deadlines for work? There will be a deadline every week to enable you to keep up with the work set.
