What is ISIS? �ISIS is a group of Islamic Terrorists that were first seen in 2006 when they broke off of Al Qaeda. They are believed to still be working with Al Qaeda. They get their power from owning these large oil plants. Their intentions are to overthrow the governments and form a large caliphate.

What have they recently done? �They have so far conquered 1/3 rd of Iraq, but what really made them known is when they beheaded an American journalists. The beheaders call themselves “John, Paul and Ringo”. One was identified for his British accent and they found out one of them was a English rapper, Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, and is now a suspect for being the killer of James Folely, the American journalists.

Who is involved? �Ayman al-Zawahiri is an intelligent middle eastern Muslim who has recently became the president of al Qaeda and who is believed to be involved with ISIS. He is the founder of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad. He and his followers seek to overthrow through violence. Through the recent actions of ISIS, Ayman has been publicly saying he is going to end ties with ISIS. Al Qaeda has stated they have nothing to do with ISIS and if some of their people are working together it is by personal choice but that the two are not related or working for the same rewards.

Ayman al-Zawahiri �By attempting to end ties with ISIS al- Zawahiri is showing responsibility to be solely responsible for his people and not ISIS. His responses to the recent buzz about the ISIS and the beheadings have been very relaxed and straight-forward that he was not involved with the recent happenings. He is showing good leadership by leading his people away from the connection with ISIS even though claiming ISIS in the past.
