BUT – WHAT IS MISSING? Despite the abundance of sporting facilities in the area, Kangaroo Bay was still not functioning well as a social & community hub and activity centre. What was missing? 1. precinct access and connectivity 2. vitality associated with commercial hospitality and leisure services 3. quality landscaping and amenity 4. age friendly opportunities - for youth, older persons and families 5. transport connections (buses & ferries) 6. a sense of “place” as a destination 7. perhaps something “iconic” as a focal point to the bay?
