More about Kahoot can be used in an educational setting, a business setting, or for personal use. Kahoot is used in 180 countries. Kahoot has a timed and question based format that is ultimately administered as an online quiz, survey, or discussion.

How Kahoot Supports Technology at Banneker High School Benjamin Banneker High school is a part of the Fulton County School District. Fulton. pdf) Benjamin Banneker High School’s “unique asset is their access to the latest educational technology with computer labs and individual computers in each classroom”, which assists with optimal learning. Equipment and Technology Required for Kahoot can be accessed by any electronic device that has an Internet connection. Kahoot is most commonly used via cellular device, tablet, and laptop. Those who choose to use their cell phone can use their wireless network or the Internet. Teachers may use an overhead projector and/or white board to review answers from Kahoot.

Kahoot supports Technology Kahoot supports technology by creating an atmosphere that spurs educational camaraderie. This collaborative learning encourages students to compete and learn at their highest and best effort. Who can use Kahoot? Kahoot is appropriate for students as young as Kindergarten and well beyond college. Students younger than 16 years old can have their settings change from public to private. They can not post or browse content publicly. Kahoot is equitably accessed at school. Although Kahoot is free it must be accessed with Internet and through an electronic device. A school like Benjamin Banneker High School would provide the needed access and even maybe access that some students and families cannot afford.

Equipment Required Students would need an electronic device and Internet access. If students are using a desktop computer, students are encouraged to you a mouse for navigation and responding to questions. Teachers may use an overhead projector and/or white board to review answers from Kahoot.

Limitations of Kahoot All classrooms do not have strong Internet connections and may have difficulty using Kahoot. If too many classes are online at the same time, the test may run slow. User cannot use the same device to create and administer Kahoot

Benefits to Learning The emerging technology of Kahoot can be used to differentiate instruction. Kahoot allows the instructor to present the test in a variety of ways - Teachers can upload screenshots of curriculum content -Images and videos can be used as a guide -Teachers can modify the answer choices or change the time allotted to respond to questions

Benefits to Learning By using Kahoot it meets content and technology standards by allowing students to be formally and informally assessed on content standards with the use of technology. Kahoot promotes student learning goals by assessing students’ ability to answer questions that may involve higher level thinking. Students and teachers both can learn what subjects need to be further discussed before more intensive testing.

Local and Global Communication Classroom teachers and administrators can create opportunities for feedback on the use of Kahoot for local communication. Kahoot is available on social media -Facebook -Instagram -Pinterest -Tumbler

Professional Learning Teachers at Banneker High School were trained during a staff meeting by simply participating in a Kahoot test. Teachers took a test about teaching strategies that was facilitated by the assistant principal. After taking the test teachers where shown how to create their own test to implement in the classroom.

Reflection I have learned technology is infiltrating the classroom rapidly and teachers are embracing technology because of it’s proven benefits. I have first hand knowledge on how Kahoot motivates and keep student engaged. Kahoot has encouraged me to implement more technology into my classroom. Ultimately, technology help students direct their learning and make them personally empowered and responsible for learning. It is important for teachers to stay abreast to the educational trends occurring in technology. Technical tools like Kahoot provide insightful data that teachers can use to effectively evaluate their students achievement and guide future instruction.
