Ephesians 3 14 …I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… 16 that He would grant you. . . [to] be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height

19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

How Deep the Father’s Love CCLI No. 11100572

How deep the Father’s love for us How vast beyond all measure That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss The Father turns His face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross My sin upon His shoulders Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything No gifts, no power, no wisdom But I will boast in Jesus Christ His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom

1 Peter 1 6 In this you greatly rejoice… 7 the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire…

…may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ 8 whom having not seen you love.

Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

Romans 8 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come…

John 21 …I’m goin’ fishin’…

John 21 3 They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food? ” They answered Him, “No. ”

6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. ” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught. ”

“Love” 1. AGAPEO – Unconditional, sacrificial love 2. PHILEO – Affection (fondness) between friends

15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me unconditionally, more than these? ”

More Than “These? ” 1. More than you love your fellow disciples? 2. More than your livelihood and things that are comfortable to you? 3. More than your fellow disciples love me?

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I am fond of You. ” He said to him, “Feed My lambs. ”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me unconditionally? ”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I am fond of You. ” He said to him, “Tend My sheep. ”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, are you fond of Me? ” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Are you fond of Me? ”.

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things;

Psalm 139 (NKJV) O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I am fond of You. ” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. ”

What Next? Jesus still asks His followers, “Do you love me – more than “these? ”

What Next? 1 Corinthians 11 (NKJV) 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

What Next? Matthew 6 (NKJV) 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

20 but What Next? lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21 For What Next? where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Christ has for sin atonement made– What a wonderful Savior! We are redeemed, the price is paid– What a wonderful Savior!
