Julius Caesar Political Career • Caesar went on many campaigns to other countries, and during these campaigns, because Caesar would be gone for so long, he left much of his power in the hands of Crassus and Pompey.
Julius Caesar Political Life (2) • Caesar’s daughter, Julia, was married to Pompey the Great. When Caesar and Pompey clashed, nothing much came of it because they were so closely related. But, when Julia and Crassus, a good friend of both Pompey and Caesar, died, there was no more link between the two new enemies.
Pompey The Great Short Biography • Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, more commonly known as Pompey, was also a member of the First Triumvirate. Pompey came from rich Italian background and quickly established himself by a few very successful campaigns.

Death of Caesar • The Assassination of Julius Caesar was the result of a conspiracy of a group of senators. The assassination occurred on March 15 and this led to another Civil war.
Pompey’s Death • Pompey was killed by king Ptolemy XIII in Egypt. Ptolemy thought this would please Caesar but, contrary to what he thought, it did not.
