Course Title: Rotating Equipment Course Learning Outcomes: On the completion of the course , the trainee should be able to: v. Know how the rotating equipment and their components work. v. Learn mechanical effects of a change in operating condition. v. Know the failure mode of each component. v. Learn prevention of unexpected break downs and perform machinery diagnosis. v. Manage the machinery reliability and trouble shooting. Course Outline: Introduction to rotating equipment, their main parts and ancillaries; Assembly and dismantling procedures; Inspection, clearance and adjustment; Operational parameters: head, flow, RPM, efficiency; Startup, routine monitoring and effect of internal wear; Stresses in machines: influence on lifespan and damages; Failure prevention: monitoring, repair quality; Internal leakages, unbalancing, wear and rupture and trouble shooting.
