What kind of comedy do we use? We use adult comedy. Comedy that makes adults laugh. Comedy that makes people think, unlike kids’ comedy, or white comedy, which is clean. We are more on the dirty side. You might be asking. . .

Why does JT use adult comedy? Because as a channel, we believe that good humor is for teens, young adults, or even full-grown adults. Kids’ comedy or tame comedy doesn’t really do the trick when it comes to humor. It’s niche, so kids will laugh. However, John Tvs used to be for kids, but we then looked at adult humor, and it was time we made a change.

Our Influences when it comes to humor.

Our Influences when it comes to humor.

South Park Ever since South Park hit the scene in 1997, It took the world of adult humor by storm. Proving that you don’t need a raunchy family sitcom to entertain. The type of humor that the show uses is actually centuries old. People have been making fun of crappy leaders since the French Revolution, The show inspires us in a ton of ways. One way is that, it’s edgy. The Simpsons and even Family Guy are becoming very downwatered through very bad company business moves. The creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are very wise when it comes to humor. They say that Family Guy humor is bad, which is quite true a lot of times, and they say they will never tone down the show. They also say they’re going to end it. Since the new characters hit the scene in the 2000’s, The show has been getting bigger and funnier.

We use influences from this show, not because of its anti-political humor, which we agree with, but because of its ability to relate to audiences despite the edginess. In our own series, Workin’ Stiff and Friends , the humor is edgy, but it has a message unlike Family Guy , which just throws unrelated gags that aren’t funny at the audience. The characters Timmy Burch and Jimmy Valmer actually relate to crippled people, and they praise it. South Park, despite its bad intentions, is very funny, and a warm hearted show.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Hit the adult animation world in year 2000, being the last humor of the 20 th century. The show focuses on 3 characters, Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad. This show’s humor is very surreal, more surreal than that of South Park, Why? Because it’s all thrown at you in 11 - 13 minutes, and it makes you go “What did I just see”? Featuring many side characters like The Mooninites and Dr. Weird, this show’s cast just doesn’t make any sense but, in a good way. This show is actually a spin off of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, in which the 3 main characters first appeared in the episode. “Baffler Meal”, in which they help hungry teenagers, hence the name.

We influences from this show, because it’s very low-quality for adult cartoon standards, but

We influences from this show, because it’s very low-quality for adult cartoon standards, but in our eyes, that’s good. The creators once said to the famous Angry Video Game Nerd , who is a fan of the series, “F**k it, just use Photoshop”. This show proves that you don’t need the highest quality materials to make a show that’s funny and has heart. Our own series, Workin’ Stiff and Friends , is very low quality but is still funny because it uses our own type of humor. This show is so charmingly bad, it changed us after we watched it, and that’s why this is one of our influences.

The Twisted Tales of Felix The Cat While not being an adult cartoon, inspires

The Twisted Tales of Felix The Cat While not being an adult cartoon, inspires us to make surreal humor that anybody in our age range can understand. It’s for kids, but it’s not bad like most kids’ shows. It uses humor that’s from the 1920’s and 30’s, and even the 90’s. The cartoon is based on famous cartoon character, Felix The Cat. It focuses on his adventures through many surreal locations. The visuals from this show are just flat out great. The characters are funny, like Rosco The Tiger or Skiddoo The Mouse, who are Felix’s friends. While being short lived, its writing inspires that of Workin Stiff and Friends , by having surreal humor that makes sense.

Sponge. Bob Squarepants Is well known worldwide. It’s a show that can appeal to

Sponge. Bob Squarepants Is well known worldwide. It’s a show that can appeal to all ages, and is easily understandable. But, we don’t take influences from the kids’ humor in the show, we take influences from the adult humor in it. You see, kids and adults like it, but adults love it. Some of the show’s best episodes have a lot of dirty jokes. For example, Mid Life Crustacean is an episode which has the famous character Patrick Star making a joke about girls’ panties. Even funnier is later in the episode, in which Mr. Krabs actually gets them out and then gets in trouble by his mother, who asks him why he has her bloomers. We are inspired by this show because it has a true meaning that only adults can understand. It also, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force , has plenty of surreal humor that is only understood by adults, not children.
