Who is Kate Adie? ? Kate Adie is a BBC newscaster and journalist. She was born in 1945, September 19 th in Sunderland , England, UK. And she is still alive. She is 74 years old now. 3
❀ 4 I’m the most famous journalist in the world!! ❀ What did she do? Her most famous work was Chief News Correspondent at BBC Radio 4. Also, she went to war zones. She got British Empire award which is given for an exceptional achievement in many activities in journalism in 1990. Also she got Mungo Park Medal in 1999. She got more awards for her excellent jobs.
Her awards and most famous works!! She went to War zones around the globe, got two awards which are British Empire award and Mungo Park Medal. Also she wrote 16 books. The most famous book is “Fighting on the Home Front The Legacy of Women in World War One”. She got - British Empire award in 1990 - OBE award in 1993 - Mungo Park Medal in 1999 - Won many awards such as Royal Television Society awards , the Bafta Richard Dimbleby award and the Broadcasting Press Guild award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting. 5
Why did she get these awards? ? She got British Empire award because she did a great job. For example, she went to the war zones around the world. She got Mungo Park Medal because she used her knowledge through exploration or adventure in dangerous places such as war zone. She went to dangerous places and she tells real stories to people who are far away from war zone. She was often on the front line of reporting, right in the middle of the war, often battles or gunfire. ✈ ✈
