History • While most cabinets can be completed in a cabinet making shop, occasionally a cabinetmaker will work onsite. • For example, when constructing a built-in cabinet, most of the cutting and milling will be conducted in the shop, but the cabinet will be assembled in place. • Since this sometimes requires modifications to the building structure and surrounding walls, a cabinet maker should also have a grasp of basic carpentry, drywall, and painting techniques. • The sense of aesthetics and proportion possessed by a good cabinetmaker is a valuable asset to the homeowner seeking cabinets that blend with the house decor in a pleasing way.

Key figure Furnitures that we produce • Selecting and measuring appropriate kind of wood, cutting and shaping the material with hand-tools or woodworking machines to form suitable units for assembling; • Joining the units to products by using glue, screws, nails and other means decorating furniture and fixtures by inlaying wood , applying veneer and carving designs; • Finishing surfaces of fabricated wooden articles or furniture; • Maintaining the woodworking machines and hand-tools, adjusting accessories and sharpening the cutting blades; • Designing and manufacturing tables, chairs ; stools, drawers, trays, beds and other furniture for house interiors; • Performing decorative works in houses and premises, setting up shelves and equipping build-in compartments and wardrobes • Planning, designing and manufacturing doors, windows and other products like complete sets of kitchen interiors as a whole.

Resent innovation Our government and palastatal need to provide loan to the competent artisan in order to make their own business. Government and industrial firm must employed more artisan for them to get more experience in different products. VTCs must link to the industrial firm for the trainees to get more knowledge when there are going for job attachment

Future challenges • Many trainees are becoming self employees, therefore it will be difficult for them to have a stable permanent job. • It is also not easy to every trainees to set up his/her own workshop so that he/she do something for market.
