John Williams was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles with his family in 1948. There he attended UCLA and studied composition privately. New York Los Angeles
After service in the Air Force, Mr. Williams returned to New York to attend the Juilliard School, where he studied piano. While in New York, he also worked as a jazz pianist, both in clubs and on recordings.
After studying in New York, John Williams returned to Los Angeles, where he began his career in the film industry. He wrote the musical scores for several TV shows, including Gilligan's Island Lost in Space.
Williams has composed the music and served as music director for nearly eighty films. He has been nominated for 42 Academy Awards and has won five Fiddler on the Roof Jaws E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial Schindler's List Star Wars
John Williams and Steven Spielberg Williams often works with Spielberg, creating music for his movies. Indiana Jones The Terminal Jurassic Park Jaws Star Wars Saving Private Ryan Schindler’s List E. T.
Best known for his film scores and ceremonial music, Williams is also a noted composer of concert works and a renowned conductor. From 1980 -1993 he conducted the Boston Pops Orchestra.
