Important Terms • Tyler vetoed a banking bill proposed by Whig members of Congress, leading his Whig Cabinet members to resign (with the exception of Daniel Webster. ) This ultimately led to his expulsion from the Whig party. Slave Mutiny on the Creole: 134 slaves on the Creole rebelled and sailed the ship to the British port of Nassua. The British refused to hand over the slaves and ships to America because slavery was outlawed by the British. It was an example of foreign opinion and laws effecting the US.
