Joel Section 3 Questions & Answers 8. How does Dr. Thomas translate Joel 2: 23 and why the difference? [p. 28] • Joel 2: 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for hath given you the (teacher of righteousness) and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. • The difference is that Dr. Thomas sees not only the literal meaning of v. 23 but the spiritual meaning as well in seeing Jesus here.

Those nations that answer this call will eat up (take over) those nations who oppose Jesus and the saints.

We therefore can't say if the full fulfilment of this prophecy is before or after Jesus returns as a thief. C. B. Micah 7: 14 -16 is after Armageddon when natural Israel is gathered from the nations and brought into their land. This is a 40 year period since it is liken to the days of the “coming out of Egypt. ”

[commentary p. 62] – The pen name was Ben Ezra. – The reason was if the Protestant Churches had thought it came from a Catholic they wouldn’t have read let alone swallowed this future interpretation of the Revelation.

Item 4, Christ's capital will be Jerusalem, Lk. 1: 35. There is no scripture showing that the Antichrist's capital will be Jerusalem. B. Israel will accept Jesus as their King, Zec. 12: 10. C. In sequence, Armageddon is well before the Millennium. Joel 2: 20 -31 outlines a number of events in sequence which occur before the Millennium but this doesn’t include Jesus being seen as the incarnation of Satan, the Antichrist. 1. This “strong delusion” comes from a false understanding of Satan, Antichrist and the false belief of Lacunza in his book “ “The Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty. ”

They will happen after Jesus returns and the gospel being preached throughout the world. After this many nations will take council against Jesus seeing him as the Antichrist. The seven thunders then are poured out over a 30 year period and after this the millennial kingdom of God begins.

[pp. 79 -80] Joel 3: 15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. This is figurative and speaks of the political heaven which here lose power. The “sun” is the political power, the “moon” is the religious reflecting power and the “stars” the statesmen. This type of language is often used in Bible prophecy throughout scripture as in Isaiah 1: 2, 10; 34: 4 -6; 65: 17. Joel 3: 15 describes the Gentile political heaven losing power to Christ and his saints who are ruling from Jerusalem the throne of Jesus, Lk. 1: 32 -35.

This means verse 16 takes place after his return when he is ruling in Jerusalem with great authority, ready to shake the whole political order of the world. – This is important to see because it establishes the context of Joel 3 as after Armageddon.
