Unit Overview • The unit I created is over the different elements of Joe Hisaishi’s music. I chose to study Joe Hisaishi for this unit because he truly inspires me to strive to be more musical when performing. We will discuss three parts of his music and the students will do homework related to each lesson. • Lesson 1 will cover sections of music, which will become musical form. • Lesson 2 will cover Hisaishi’s use of dynamics to convey different emotions. • Lesson 3 will cover his use of differing instrumentation to illustrate settings such as heaven and earth.
