WHAT IS THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL?

Romans 1: 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

3 Nephi 27: 20 -21 20 Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day. 21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel;

Brigham Young (1801 -77) President The Gospel of the Son of God that has been revealed is a plan or system of laws and ordinances, by strict obedience to which the people who inhabit this earth are assured that they may return again into the presence of the Father and the Son. Spencer W. Kimball (1801 -1985) President Now, what is the gospel of which we speak? It is the power of God unto salvation; it is the code of laws and commandments which help us to become perfect, and the ordinances which constitute the entrance requirements. The ordinances begin with baptism by immersion by proper authority for the remission of sins and for entrance into the earthly kingdom of God. It is followed by the reception of the Holy Ghost, which is promised to every person who qualifies. The priesthood is given, which opens further doors; the endowment is an indispensable feature in preparation for eternal life; and then, the sealing in the holy temple of a man and a woman for an eternal relationship. These are indispensable! No one can ever reach the heights of exaltation and eternal life without all of them. (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p. 502)

What is the everlasting gospel?

What is the everlasting gospel? We will simply call the everlasting gospel, the plan of salvation or the plan of happiness or the plan of exaltation.

THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL AND EVERLASTING COVENANT D&C 101: 39 -40 39 When men are called unto mine everlasting gospel, and covenant with an everlasting covenant, they are accounted as the salt of the earth and the savor of men;

Everlasting Gospel and Everlasting Covenant are one and the same thing.

The gospel can also be called “the new and everlasting covenant. ”
