1863 On 21 st August, 1863, the Quantrill Raiders committed one of the worst atrocities of the Civil War when it attacked the town of Lawrence, KS. During the raid Quantrill's gang killed 150 inhabitants and set fire to over 180 buildings.

1866 February Liberty, Missouri Frank James (Jesse’s older brother) & Cole Younger robbed their first Bank They got $57, 000 in that robbery Jesse was not with them

1867 March Savannah, Georgia Frank, Jesse, and Cole attempt a robbery They all tried to shoot the bank president They all miss Robbery failed

1867 May Jesse kills a man and his 15 year old son.

James and Younger Gang In March of 1868, the James brothers and Younger brothers robbed the banking house of Nimrod & Cin in Russellville, Kentucky.

In 1869, they robbed a Richmond, Missouri Bank. That same year they robbed the Davies Savings Bank at Gallatin, Missouri. On April 29, 1872, five men, including the James brothers, robbed a bank in Columbia, Kentucky.

September 1873 Kansas City Fairgrounds Frank and Jesse stole $10, 000 Killed J. W. Whicher who was in pursuit of them

Pinkertons They are hired bounty hunters. Whicher worked for the Pinkertons

July 31, 1874 Robbed Iron Mountain Railroad train in Wayne County, Missouri. March 17, 1874, While hiding out in Roscoe, the Pinkertons caught John and Jim Younger. During the gunplay that resulted in their capture, John was shot in the neck and killed by Captain Louis J. Lull of the Pinkertons.

January 25, 1875 Frank and Jesse James hid at the Samuel’s home(Zerelda, Frank and Jesse’s mom). Molotov cocktail James brothers got away. Zerelda lost her right arm and her nine year old son died Archie, Frank and Jesse’s half brother.

Jesse married his cousin, Zerelda. Had two children Mary and Jesse. Frank married Annie Ralston

1876 Northfield, Minnesota Bank robbery gone bad. Lost everyone in the gang Jesse and Frank got away The citizens fought back

April 3, 1882 Bob Ford a member of the gang shot and killed Jesse in his home while he was hanging a picture in his living room. The reward for Jesse’s death was $10, 000 Frank turned himself in after Jesse’s death, but he was never convicted of any crime.
