The Words of This Covenant (11: 1 -8) • Remember that early in Jeremiah’s ministry Josiah had found “The Book of the Law” (2 Kings 22: 8 -13) • Deuteronomy 28: 15 – “if you do not obey…all these curses will come upon you and overtake you. ” • Jeremiah is simply enforcing the covenant that Israel made with Jehovah at Mt. Sinai. • Inseparable connection between the heart, listening, and obedience. (see Matthew 7: 15 -27)
