z TYPES OF TEA WITHE OOLONG wilted and unoxidized wilted, bruised, and partially oxidized YELLOW unwilted and unoxidized but allowed to yellow GREEN unwilted and unoxidized BLACK wilted, sometimes crushed, and fully oxidized (called 紅茶 [hóngchá], "red tea" in Chinese tea culture) POSTFERMENTED green tea that has been allowed to ferment/compost (called 黑茶 [hēichá] "black tea" in Chinese tea culture).
z TYPES OF GREEN TEA GYOKURO BANCHA It’s leaves are covered before the harvest. It’s the most precious and expensive green tea. It’s coltivated during summer seasons. SENCHA HOJICHA It’s coltivated during spring seasons. It’s the most famous and spread type. It’s the roasted version of the normal green tea leaves. It contains less teine, so it’s perfect for the afternood. MATCHA GEINMACHA It’s the powder obtained by the grinding of the first three leaves of the plant (used for the ceremony). It’s a mix of tea leaves and rice corns.
z HISTORICALLY, Chronological Time Line: Tea was imported in Japan by Eisai the monk Eisai around the XII Eisai century with tea ceremony. Then, Murata Juko elaborated Murata Juko the ceremony based on the idea of the Wabi-cha, and Sen no Rikyū introduced new Sen no Rikyū tools. Nowadays, there are 3 different schools of tea.
