Jane A. Hambric Covid 19 Plan 2020 -2021 The Socially Distanced School Day
Employee Protocols Employees will be asked to monitor wellness before reporting to campus. Employees will adhere to wellness check before entering the Main Entrance. If CLEARED to enter, they will sanitize hands and put face covering on. Employees will always wear face coverings when in the building. If NOT CLEARED to enter, they will report to the Isolation Tent for Nurse to perform wellness check. If employees become ill during the day, a counselor will take over class until we have a substitute.
Student Protocols • Please educate your child to use their voice and notify an adult when they are not feeling well. • Your child will be asked if they are experiencing any of the symptoms as we take their temperature with a touchless thermometer. • If your child is CLEARED to enter the building, they will sanitize hands and put their face covering on. • If child forgets his/her face covering, a disposable mask will be provided. • If your child is NOT CLEARED to enter the building, they will be taken to the Isolation Room for Nurse to perform wellness check.
Isolation Room Once on campus, if an employee or child feels ill or becomes ill, they will report to the designated Isolation Room. The nurse will conduct a health assessment. We will limit the Isolation Room to 4 individuals that will be separated honoring 6 feet distance. Only the nurse and administration will be allowed in Isolation Room.
Students will be instructed to wear mask and appropriately supervised during handwashing and bathroom breaks.
• • Student Drop off Parents, please stay in vehicle Students will exit at drop off area and enter building through designated entrance.
Entrance st Pre. K, K, 1 At Drop Off students will be escorted into building through cafeteria • • • Exit st Pre. K, K, 1 Students will be escorted out with 6 feet between each child. Monitor will escort student to parent/guardian picking up child. Please stay in vehicle at all times. Students will exit through door closest to cafeteria. Pre K and 1 st grade will exit through the front of the building through the door closest to the cafeteria. Kinder will exit on the right side of the campus and will wait in the front of the school to be picked up.
Entrances nd rd 2 , 3 Grade Students may enter through the main entrance of the school. Exit nd rd 2 , 3 Grade Students will be escorted out of the side exit of the school and escorted to the front of the building for pick up. Students will follow all social distancing protocols.
Entrances 4 th, 5 th Grade • Student may be dropped off on Oxcart Run and enter through gates Exit th th 4 , 5 Grade • Student will exit through gates and are to be picked up on Oxcart Run.
Entrances th th 6 , 7 Grade Students may enter through side entrance closest to track. Exit th th 6 , 7 Grade Students will exit through exit closest to the cafeteria in the front of the campus.
Entrances th 8 Grade Students may enter through the left side of the campus nearest the track. Exit th 8 Grade Students will exit through left side rear door closest to the track and side portables. Students will maintain all social distancing protocols.
• Classroom Set Up All classrooms will have a max class load that allows for students to be 6 feet apart at all times.
Bathrooms • Bathrooms will be closely monitored • Bathrooms are cleaned regularly • Monitors will ensure number of students entering and exiting bathrooms and that students are washing their hands • A minimum of 2 students in restroom at a time. Students will wait in line at 6 feet apart to enter bathroom.
Water Fountains At this time, water fountains will be turned off. Students may bring a water bottle with them, labeled with their name.
Lunch As a campus, we will be following CDC and District guidelines. Students will be having lunch in the classroom to ensure being 6 feet apart. This will be in effect until further notice.
Parents & Visitors • Parents need to remain outside school at all times during drop off & pick-up of students • All visitors must present an ID upon request to enter the building as our HALL PASS system is still in place for safety. • Parents must stand six feet apart from all others to ensure appropriate social distancing • Parents and students must wear a face mask while on school district grounds/premises • Parent meetings will be arranged by phone, if administrators determine that a parent’s physical participation is needed pre-arrangements in a safe sanitized room will be made.
Parents & Visitors Cont. • Anyone entering schools will undergo wellness screening to include temperature checks and must wear a face mask/covering, which can be provided by the school if needed • For wellbeing reasons, if attending a school meeting please do not bring other children • There will be no classroom observations or school visits allowed during this COVID time • No student deliveries will be accepted to include meals, cupcakes, gifts, balloons, etc. • Parents are asked to inform the school if a member of their immediate family or close contact experiences symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19
Communication • All employees, parents and community will be updated regularly with any changes and important information regarding the wellbeing of all. • Please make sure all phone numbers and emails are up to date. • Communication will be done through our campus website, Blackboard, texts Smores, emails, phone calls and teacher communication such as Class. Dojo and remind.
