This film was directed by Jack Delano who also composed the music. “Los Peloteros” was filmed in Comerío, Puerto Rico. It was shot using real children from the town and the comedian Ramón Rivera, known as Diplo.

Jack Delano is considered the most important photographer who documented life in Puerto Rico in the 1940’s. However, Jack Delano was not Puerto Rican; he was born in Ukraine in 1914. He was sent to Puerto Rico in the 1940’s as part of his work for the Farm Security Administration.
