MI INTRODUCCIÓN Who are you? Where are you from? Where’d you go to school? Why did you choose to work here? Have you gone to a Spanish speaking country?

TAKE OUT YOUR SYLLABUS Take 5 minutes to silently read the syllabus. After five minutes I will go over a brief overview of the syllabus. Then we will start on a worksheet about the syllabus. This worksheet will be taken home for your Parents to fill out the left side. This is due NEXT CLASS.

BATHROOM To go to the bathroom you silently raise your hand ask “¿Puedo ir al baño? ” You must have the paper I am handing out to use the bathroom. Extra bathroom passes may be used for extra credit at the end of the marking period. You may only use your own pass, nobody else's will be accepted. I will date and put the time on the paper, then you may go to the bathroom.

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT First offense: Formal verbal warning Second offense: Sit next to me/ Hallway talk Third offense: ISS for 15 minutes. Fourth offense: ISS all period (phone call home at my discretion).

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT Severe offenses/5 th+ offense: Referral + Phone call home. Each additional offense will be more referrals. *Severe offenses are anything where I feel myself or another student is threatened either verbally or physically. *Belitting someones ability, intelligence or bullying is automatically a second offense.

HOMEWORK TAREA You have no homework. But your parents/guardians do! Have them do the left side of the syllabus paper and return it back to me by next class. Your job is to remember the homework and bring it in. Don’t forget!

LOS POLLITOS DICEN “PIO PIO” I will sing the song los pollitos dicen “pio pio” Pollo – chicken First time, listen and watch. pollitos – little chickens (chick) Second time – you must do the gestures (sing if you’re comfortable) Dicen – they say. If a verb ends in –n that means “they” Los pollitos = The chicks If I say “clase? ”You must answer with “Si? ? ” Sound interested! Let’s try. -ito = little

BRAIN BREAK! Everyone must start standing. You must say “muchacho”if you’re a boy or “muchacha”if you’re a girl to sit down. If you and someone else says “muchacho(a) at the same time the whole class starts over standing.

BRAIN BREAK (CONT) If I see you are trying to coordinate an order you are “tramposos” CHEATERS! We will then go back to regular class.

PSA: TISSUES AND HAND SANITIZER If you bring me in tissues and hand sanitizer I will give you points in your citizenship portion of your grade. Make sure you’ve turned in your syllabus.

STORYASKING If I say a statement, it is the most interesting thing in the word. You must respond with “oooo!” If I say “Clase? ” every student must respond “Siiii? !” If I say “voluntario” I want someone to volunteer to answer a question individually.

STORYASKING If I say “Clase” the whole class must answer together. I don’t know all the details of the story. I have a basic story in line. It’s up to the class to make it fun. You will give me details using whiteboards to think up cute or funny answers.

STORYASKING Stories need student actors! Actors need to act! Actors will be given cheese awards for exceptional effort. Chili’s are given to student individual volunteers for Spanish questions. These can both be turned in for prizes!

STORYASKING (CONT) I will ask many questions to repeat structures. Some of the questions are dumb and repetitive so you hear words over and over. You should always understand what I’m saying!
