LO: I can learn the features of a limerick and write my own
Let’s talk about syllables! Remember - they are a beat in a word!
It is very important to get the rhythm in a limerick! Have a go at ‘dumming’ the rhythm!
Let’s take an even closer look at the set out and the chosen words and phrases of the limerick!
Okay, now have a go… Change the limerick and make it your own. Where will your person be from? Norwich? Norfolk? Peru? London? Paris? What did your person do, wear and say? Use this template to help you out!
Here’s my own limerick: There once was a girl from New York Who woke up and forgot how to talk She tried hard to shout But no words would come out Then suddenly she let out a squawk!

LO: I can present my measurements in a bar chart
Today we are going to measure the height of objects. Then, we are going to display our findings in a chart that is easy to read. This is called data handling. Data is INFORMATION. We are going to present the information that we find out today so people can clearly see the results!
Measuring toys Check your ruler is on the correct unit of measure. We are using mm today!
So, once you have selected 5 or 6 different sized toys, then you are going to measure their height. Remember to line your ruler on 0 and read the line that your toy’s height is at! Jot down your results!
Now, you are going to present this on a bar chart… let’s have a look at one! A table of results Title showing what the chart is showing
Top tips:
Your turn: Title showing what the chart is showing This side would be numbers in mm. It would need to go up to the greatest amount! Your tallest bar will stand for your tallest toy. Your shortest bar will show the shortest teddy! Label each toy so one bar represents one toy!
