New backplane pinout to accomodate 4 -wide star connections Use 4 routing layers => 2 layers for interlock, 2 layers for monitor => for both cases have only I 2 C clocks on private layer (other 3 signals on other layer) PCB board stack: top layer : monitor routes SDA, INT, O inner 1 : GND plane inner 2 : monitor SCK inner 3 : VCC 1 plane inner 4 : VCC 2 plane (probably same voltage as VCC 1) inner 5 : interlock SCK inner 6 : GND plane bottom : interlock SDA, INT, O NOTE: no crosstalk problem : clocks and signals on separate planes 2 options for the monitor and interlock card backplane connectors: q 160 -pin connector => simple pin assignments : 1 row on the connector reaches one I/O card ü 96 -pin connector => more complex pin assignments : 4 rows reach 3 I/O cards; but OK 2021 -03 -03 ITk interlock meeting 2
