IT – Staffing and Support Class Rank Ø Your GPA is used to determine class rank. The higher the GPA, the higher your class rank. Student A Student B Student C 100. 10 GPA 100. 09 GPA 99. 99 GPA Ranked #1 Ranked #2 Ranked #3 etc. Class rank is another factor a college uses to determine whether or not to admit you. Texas public colleges offer automatic admission if you are in the Top 10%* of your class Example – If there are 400 students in your graduation class, you must be one of the top 40 students (400 x 10%) to be “Top 10%” • Some Texas colleges set this percentage to a lower number in order to allow admissions of additional students who have strong applications but are not in the top percentile of their class.
