It has come to our attention that some of the OLDER PEOPLE are getting out of hand. . . Please do not RUN in the building. Be careful not to step on the little one’s. If you want to play, get one of your children to accompany you outside. Be respectful to the little one’s. During services, be as quiet as you can, so as not to disturb the other’s. Young people, try to set the right example to your parents and use discipline if necessary.

What would you consider as being the MOST IMPORTANT thing in your life? Would it be your FAMILY, HUSBAND / WIFE, CHILDREN, and PARENTS? Is it the FAMILY PROPERTY, YOUR HOME or BUSINESS? Is it the FAMILY WEALTH, MONEY or JEWELRY? Is it the FREEDOM to do as you please, to fulfill your FLESHLY DESIRES in any way that you choose? Would it be to SERVE GOD with all of your heart, to OBEY His Word?

Here Paul is speaking primarily of his own DETERMINATION. . . Philippians 1: 19 -20 – For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20. according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

Here Paul identifies man’s great treasure, to LIVE. . . John 10: 10 – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 20: 30 -31 – And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31. but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Here Paul describes the CENTER and PURPOSE of his existence. . . Galatians 2: 20 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. II Timothy 1: 12 – For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Here Paul describes one of man’s greatest FEARS. . . Psalms 90: 9 -10 – For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh. 10. The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. James 4: 13 -14 – Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14. whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Paul knew that in Christ, death was NOT THE END for him. . . I Corinthians 15: 54 -58 – So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. ” 55. “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? “ 56. The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

From Philippians 1: 21, it is very clear to see that Paul was a man, who put GOD FIRST. . . Matthew 6: 33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 22: 35 -40 – Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? ” 37. Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ’ 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ’ 40. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. ” The question is, WHAT DO YOU PUT FIRST. . .

And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
