Imager Mechanical Requirements/Features • Filter Wheel – Select from one of six filters, stepper motor drive – “Find Home” feature w/ integral number of steps between filters – Heated radiantly: T estimated ~40º C with 5 W heating • Lens back-focal-distance held fixed in a sub-assembly • CCD – Radiation shielded by 9. 5 mm Cu – Cooled using Thermoelectric Cooler/Heat Pipe. “Roof” used as heat sink. T estimated ~ 30º - 40º C with 5 W electrical into TEC • Optical Alignment Cube visible from 3 axes • Daylight Sensor integrated w/ filter wheel housing • Modular Design – Facilitates assembly, testing and troubleshooting • External parts have stepped or baffled joints to minimize light leakage.
