So, What Happened? � We work closely with the Office of Enrollment Management to

So, What Happened? � We work closely with the Office of Enrollment Management to set target rates for matriculation. In 2009, US students began staying “home” for college, so our domestic non-resident applications were down. In order to bridge the gap, we increased our targets for international admits. At the same time, our international applicants starting increasing at an amazing rate.

And the Results… � We increased our target admit rate based on historical matriculation

And the Results… � We increased our target admit rate based on historical matriculation rates. But this year, 30% more students committed to Purdue than the historic rates indicated.

Top four countries by enrollment (Undergrad and Grad) ◦ ◦ ◦ � � China (2250) + 1022 = 3272 India (557) + 748 = 1305 South Korea (525) + 357 = 882 Malaysia (244) + 24 = 268 Taiwan a close fifth with (164) + 100 = 264 Total Number of Countries Represented: 127 Total Number of Purdue Students: 39, 637 ◦ Percent of Int’l Students to total Purdue Student Population: overall 20% (14% of undergrads 38% of Grads)
