D Report Location Referencing (NP 17572) • Divided into Two Profiles – Will be combined for one standard document – Full standard scheduled for completion October 2006 • Profile One – Pre-coded location reference – CD comments reviewed and resolved • Profile Two – Dynamic location reference (On-the-Fly) – Revision of this section is underway based on EU Project input and Japanese input being discussed • IPR being examined 6

D Report Navigation Application Program Interface (API) • PWI 17267 – Approved at October 2003 Plenary – New higher level map service API – Requirements are finalized – Function calls and data structures nearly complete – NP balloting approved at April 2005 Plenary – Waiting on NP ballot circulation by TC secretariat 8
ISO/TC 204 WG 3 Busan C/Ho. D Report Update Publishing for Geographic Databases • Efforts moved back to GDF SWG 3. 1 – Method of updating GDF database files – Delegations reviewing current drafts • On hold until discussions regarding map update provision proposals are finished 9
ISO/TC 204 WG 3 Busan C/Ho. D Report Data Structures for Map Data Provision and Update in ITS Applications (PWI 24099) • Defining data structures for the provision of map data and update of map-related data for ITS applications – From centers to navigation systems – Could be delivered to other location devices • Discussion to date – Introduced in February 2004 – Approved new PWI at Beijing Plenary – Discussion of use cases is underway • NP Voting requested in Busan TC meeting 10

D Report Internal Liaison Activities • WG 10 – Coordination on location referencing issues – SWG 3. 3 (LR) convener is WG 10 convenor • WG 11 – Need close relationship on WG 3 items (API, Navigation Data Update) and other WG 11 items if this group awakes • WG 16 – Held Joint meeting in Portland – CALM, Probe data, location referencing and map data structures were discussed – Some exchange and review of draft documents 11

D Report ISO/TC 211 Liaison Activities • Joint Task Force between TC 204 and TC 211 – Four meetings have taken place since October 2002 • Approved Cooperative Agreement (Chicago Agreement) – Beijing October 2004 • Coordination proceeding on XGDF – Some GDF descriptions and models are being recast in accordance with relevant TC 211 standards – GDF UML models will be reviewed by TC 211 • Coordination on Navigation and Tracking items – Joint terminology mapping document has been developed and attached to TC 211 19132 LBS standard as an Annex • Liaison from TC 211 attended WG 3 Busan meeting and gave a presentation on relevant TC 211 items 12

D Report Liaison Activities Cont’d. • Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) – New OGC liaison has been identified – Coordination between WG 3 API development and Open LS specification revision work • JTC 1/SC 32/WG 4 – SQL/Multi-media application packages – Consideration of SQL-GDF implementations • AMIC & OSGi – Communication regarding coordination on similar navigation specification development efforts 13
