REQUIREMENTS Exemptions : l l If only one seat row, no ISOFIX position required If it is not possible to install any of the three rearward facing ISO fixtures on rear seat row, the two ISOFIX positions can accept any of the two forward facing ISO fixtures GRSP December 2001 Session - P. CASTAING 8
BASIC PRINCIPLES l "UNIVERSAL” ISOFIX CRS * - The test tool to approve this Isofix CRS is the ECE 44 bench equipped with top tether anchorage. * - Only integral forward facing CRS including 2 ISOFIX attachments and one top tether attachment. l "SEMI-UNIVERSAL” ISOFIX CRS * - The test tool to approve this Isofix CRS is the ECE 44 bench. * - any CRS including 2 ISOFIX attachments and any other feature to prevent rotation. REQUIREMENTS For ISOFIX CRS : l Depending on its mass group, each ISOFIX CRS shall be within the boundary surfaces of one of the five ISO fixtures GRSP December 2001 Session - P. CASTAING 10
REQUIREMENTS • For any ISOFIX position in the vehicle, the car manufacturer has to declare in the owner’s manual what : categories, mass groups, types and ISO fixtures of ISOFIX CRS can be installed • The categories, the mass groups and the corresponding ISO fixtures shall be marked on the packaging of each ISOFIX CRS GRSP December 2001 Session - P.
