Temporary Handrail System has been adapted from the Layher System of which you may already know the existence and has been adopted as a standard in many parts of Europe. Working together with Modern, we at Sludge Treatment Facilities have worked on bringing the system to life with the aim of eliminating the use of harnesses as a primary fall arrest system in accordance with Leighton’s Strive for L. I. F. E / Essentials directives and John Holland Board of Directors requirements. This significantly reduces primary fall risks by both eliminating and engineering a hard control before a harness or secondary fall arrest system needs to be considered. (i. e PPE as a last resort, rather than the first. )

Our design of Temporary Handrail System facilitates the installation of u-heads in shoring applications whilst maintaining a permanent hand rail throughout the whole process of construction of scaffold. This system can drastically reduces the risk of fall and reliance on fall arrest systems during erection and dismantling of scaffold system. This system is the only product to our knowledge presently available in Hong Kong that provides a temporary hand rail protection to Scaffolders, and therefore, we strongly recommend our design to the trade.
