Why it has to be Jesus and no one else? • God is holy, pure with NO sin. • God is perfect • God is just/ fair. • God hates sin, but not the sinner.

• Why is the Cross so powerful? • Our Lord crushed satan on the cross • Through the cross we are saved • The cross makes us strong • What does it represent? • • • Power Faith Hope Love Suffering Salvation

Jesus on the cross What did Jesus offer because of His love for us? Himself. He also left his kingdom and glory and became a man to save us. Why does the Church celebrate Good Friday? To remind us of Christ's crucifixion and his love and death for ALL OF US. What did they put on His head? how many nails? Crown of thorns / 3 nails What about His side? It was pierced with a spear

There was a big cross in the room that his wife sleeping in. • Mark was so upset. . he called all the nurses and doctors and told them remove this cross. I don’t want my baby to see this cross. . It is a sign of weakness and we should not be proud of it!!

Stories about the Power of the Cross. . . • The doctors and nurses refused to remove the cross, and told him we will not remove it, but if you want you can go to another hospital. • The man didn’t go to another hospital because his wife was so sick, and he was so upset that the first thing his baby will see is a cross! • The baby was born. The nurse ran to Mark and told him congratulation for 2 things: you got a very beautiful baby. . . and you know what also he is born blind so he won’t see the cross as you wanted. • The man was so sad and at that time only he realized how powerful the cross is, and he regret all what he did.

The Holy week or ‘Pascha’? • What is the meaning of ‘Pascha’? o It came from the Hebrew word “Passover” o It symbolizes “Passing-over” from sins to eternal life with Jesus

How to prepare for the Pascha Week • Confession • Pray MORE, Read in the bible / Pascha book MORE • Give up something that you like the most (Fasting) – For example : watching TV , listening to songs, chocolates . . . etc. • Try to attend one evening prayer each day during the holy week. • Be kind to others/ humble

What can we learn from the story? • Jesus came with love to die on the cross for us. This is a strength that some people can’t understand. • Jesus died on the cross and He forgave us. We must also forgive others. • Good Friday is a day to be quiet and think about what Jesus did for us. • When do I use the cross ? ALL THE TIME. • Do the sign of the cross or say it in your heart before starting anything
