Grade. Max Technology § Major Enhancement to Automatic Controls for Dozers – Double the update rate of GNSS data – Optimized controls algorithms § Why it is good for customers: – – – Automatic blade control “Rapid Recovery” Consistent grading performance Increased smoothness Full Speed Second Gear operation Operation without constraints Better operator experience § Competitive differentiator against inertial-based systems: – Topcon MC 2 – Leica SP 14 § No additional hardware, sensors required!

Grade. Max Performance – Cat D 5 M B. A. B. C. Rap Rec id over y C. Full speed, second gear, Automatics with Grade. Max, forced blade down 0. 50’ (150 mm) low Allow Automatics to recover 1. 5 – 2 machine lengths Rapid Recovery – Full speed, second gear, Automatics with Grade. Max

Grade. Max Technology § Better stability, blade recovery at faster grading speeds – Flat runs, – Slopes, super elevation, and complex designs

Grade. Max Technology vs. Competition Trimble Grade. Max Tocpon MC 2 Leica SP 14 Enabled in v 12. 2 software, requires current MS 9 x 2 GNSS and CB 4 x 0 Control Box Welding for sensor bracket, precise measure-up and sensor calibration Blade Rotation with Sixway blades on Slopes Maintain high speed grading on complex designs Dual GPS Single UTS 2 D and 3 D Modes Requires additional sensors and hardware Difficulty of installation and calibration

Grade. Max Technology – Requirements § For Dozers – only – – § 2 D and 3 D modes Laser and GNSS – only CB 450 or CB 460 Control Box – GCS 900/Accu. Grade v 12. 20 § Not available for the CB 430 or CD 700 – Upgrading to v 12. 2 automatically enables Grade. Max Technology – When relevant hardware is present – Upgrading sets GNSS data to CAN 1 § MS 992 GNSS receiver – § GNSS firmware v 4. 45 § Not available for use with MS 990 or MS 980 MS 990 GPS Receiver – Some benefit can be seen – Requires v 4. 19 firmware § Dual GNSS – CAN 1 bus at the nose of the machine – § CB 450 CB 460 All dozers should have CAN 1, except for unique machines § Deere 850 JR (US Military) Use with single and dual laser – Setup GL 700 to run at 900 RPM MS 992

On-the-Fly Valve Tuning Adjustments § New, more operator-friendly way of tuning valves speeds – while in operation! – More values to tune, for more flexibility in varying conditions, materials or machine type – For 2 D and 3 D Dozer systems – only – Laser, GPS, and UTS systems

On-the-Fly Valve Tuning Adjustments § Why it is good for customers: – Combined with Trimble Grade. Max Technology, allows dozer automatic controls to be fine tuned for maximum performance, depending upon: § § Application Material type Quality of dozer hydraulics Operator preferences

On-the-Fly Valve Tuning Adjustments § Additional adjustments for: – Lift speed – surface waves, increase or decrease – Stability (Manager’s Mode-only) – adjust if blade is overshooting or slow to reach design (derivative gain) – Balance – ratio between raise and lower commands – Tilt speed – increase/decrease to adjust tilt speed – Vertical offset – while tuning, without exiting menu

Use Inc/Dec Switch To Adjust Values § The Increment / Decrement Switch can be used to easily change Valve Tuning Parameters – Easy, safe way to make adjustments while operating the machine

GPS Support in 2 D Mode § Same functionality as GCSFlex with GPS – GPS guidance to 2 D depths, slopes, profiles, and alignment + profiles – Does not require site calibration or design files § Requirements – CB 450 or CB 460 control boxes – 3 D Indicate software option key § Not available with the 2 D software option key – MS 972 or MS 992 GNSS smart antennas § Not supported – CB 430 or CD 700 control boxes – MS 980 or MS 990 GPS smart antennas

UI Enhancements – Bench Elevation § Single, quick press & release behaves as before § Press & hold of the Bench softkey displays “Bench Elevation” screen § Dialogue description, graphic shows how to bench – “Clear” softkey – “Bench” softkey

UI Enhancements – Bench Rotation § Single, quick press benches heading – Based on HS 410 heading sensor § Press & hold Bench key to access “Bench Rotation” screen § Options: – Clear the previous bench – Set new bench using heading sensor – Set new bench by selecting two points with bucket § Only an option when using GPS

UI Enhancements – Profile Management § New updates for Profile definition & management – Accessed in more logical location for use § Moved Profile functions to Select Profile screen – Select Origin softkey § Indication which point is selected as the origin on the profile § Indicated by green dot – Flip/Mirror softkey § Flip or mirror profile – Parallel/Square softkey § To select orientation of work § Perpendicular or parallel to the profile

Depth & Slope Memories for Profiles § Version 12. 2 provides ability to apply mainfall slope memories to profiles – When using HS 410 Heading Sensor or MS 9 x 2 GNSS Receiver – Previous profile functionality only supported trenches without mainfall slope § Enables the operator to configure and dig profiles that have mainfall slopes – More ideal for excavating for run-off or drainage ditches

Depth & Slope Memories for Profiles § Press and hold the Slope memory button to view all slope memories, create new, delete, etc.

Laser/Touch Point Softkeys § When the Touch Point softkey is pressed, the standard Touch Point dialog is displayed and Accept Laser is not available § As in previous versions, the Laser Accept softkey will be visible for 3 seconds after a valid laser strike has been detected and lost § Touch Point is not available in Profile guidance mode if an HS 410 heading sensor is not installed

Laser/Touch Point Soft Keys § To make room for depth, slope memories, Touch Point & Laser Accept soft keys have been combined Note – Laser catcher not available when GPS support is enabled
